Funfair JOURS DE FETE - Paris Grand Palais


Do you know the common between The Grand Palais and the Ferris wheel ?

- It is “Jours de fête” “Festive days” which will take place from December 18th to January 1st.
During this event the Grand Palais will be transformed in to a funfair with a Ferris wheel, a roundabout and a children’s space. It will be also possible to discover part of the Musée des Arts Forains collection. All with a music theme: Gipsy Jazz to celebrate Django Reinhart’s birth a hundred years ago (23 January 1910).
The Grand Palais is known for highlighting perfectly all its modern events. Jours de fête won’t be an exception the monument will be decorated with lights by F. Austerlitz…

Prepare 5 € per adult (3€ per children) for the entrance and 2€ to 4 € per attraction.

SALON NAUTIQUE 2009


Dynamic and welcoming the Nautic is the best place to discover the new products for 2009/2010 concerning Boats (around 1400 models exhibited) and equipment (with a showroom dedicated to on pavilion 2.1).
Also present the tourism organisations will give you a short view for your future holidays.
In 2009 don’t miss “Cuisine à Bord”, or how to cook when you are on the sea. Every day a chef and a skipper will give you tasty and easy recipes as if they where on a cruise!

For professionals the Nautic is a very important place to be. It welcomed around 260 000 visitors in 2008.
It seems that 40% of the individual visitors come to the Nautic with the intention to make a purchase.
This year there will be 1200 exhibitors and 1400 trademarks.

ASTERIX IS 50 YEARS OLD

Do you know Asterix ?
He is a Tiny Gaul comic hero published for the first time on the Pilote review on October 1959.
He lives on 50BC in the village of indomitable Gauls that resist again and again to Cesar and the Romans.
The best thing to know him is to read one of his albums along which he travels around the world to help other countries. You can also watch Asterix & The Vikings movie.
Actually if you do not want to leave your computer now you can visit Asterix web and Asterix Blog where you’ll find lots of information about Asterix, Obelix and the events organized for their 50th anniversary.

In and out of the Fondation Cartier building the exhibition shows Graffiti’s evolution from its beginnings in the New York streets. You can have an idea visiting their web, which presents videos, and a presentation of the artists shown.
Also on December Fondation Cartier organises two special events : On December 8th signing of the catalog Born in the Streets by Seen the famous New York one of graffiti’s pioneers.
On December 11th and 12th WK Interact will create a unique work for the garden of the Fondation Cartier.

120 years celebration continues at the Eiffel Tower !


From tonight October 22nd to December 31rst the Eiffel Tower offers a new light display.
This colourful show will take place on the Trocadéro façade at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm and 11pm just after the 5 minutes sparkling lights. It will last 12 minutes recalling the extraordinary construction of the Tower with lights, movement.

Cannes Exhibition : Cannes and the Sea

Exhibition until June 25 2010
This exhibition recalls the importance of the sea on the city life from the middle ages to the 20th century. It shows mostly documents and pictures form the city archives as well as few objects borrowed to Menton’s Museum and individual owners.
The event is flanked by a roving exhibition on loan from the Departamental archives : “The Alpes Maritimes’ coast and people from the 16th to 20th century” from October 15th to March 18th 2010.

The Musée du Luxembourg presents an exhibition organised by the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts : LOUIS COMFORT TIFFANY COLORS AND LIGHT
Louis Comfort Tiffany is an American artist known worldwide as interior designer and glass maker. This exhibition shows 160 works which reveals the contribution of this creator to the glass industry as to the decorative arts.
